STructured workout hour for creatives

United Athletic Club - Eastside seeks to offer an inclusive space for everyone, including creatives, to workout! We are hosting two free open gym hours for creative minded individuals of all backgrounds to come into the space.

Our manager, Venus Edlin, is a performer, dancer and creative who works in PDX theatre! They wanted to merge these communities and also celebrate the UAC culture. Venus will be working with local actor, director, artist of many forms Ezri Galban Reyes to create a multimedia devised theatre piece about Eastside. 

Those who are interested in participating in this creative project that explores gym culture are encouraged to come to one or both of these open hours! Learn more about the project or just come to workout with fellow artists! 

HOUR STRUCTURE

  • Please reserve your spot ahead of time!

  • If you have never visited UAC before, please come 15 minutes early so we can have you sign a liability waiver

  • 7 PM: Ezri will lead a group warm up and introduction

  • 7:15 PM: Independent workout time begins. We can provide a program for those who desire assistance

  • 7:50 PM: Ezri will close out the session by leading a group cool down. Venus will provide more logistic information about the project and next steps.

Artists involved with the final performance will be compensated at minimum with gym services and a ticket split. No prior experience necessary, just a desire to learn about our community and make art! Creatives of all background welcome. All attendees must follow all UAC policies.
