Meet the tEAM

Sean williams — owner

Saturday Bootcamp coach. Available for personal training

I bring my passion for a diverse and supportive gym community to UAC Eastside. Everything I do is built on the desire to help everyone grow and feel empowered; in all walks and stages of life. My history in exercise and corrective training is long one, but one of my greatest accomplishments is when I became a pro bodybuilder in 2018. While juggling work and training, I continue to enjoy bodybuilding and living my life to the fullest and being there with my child. When working with clients, I like to focus on areas of weight-loss with an emphasis on nutrition, rehabilitation as well as strength and conditioning.

Ashley Knight

Strength & Conditioning coach. Available for personal training

I understand what it’s like being intimidated by the gym. Feeling lost, not knowing what to do, or how to do it correctly... because I’ve been there, too. Growing up I had fun being active, whether it was playing sports or joining group exercise classes, at local gyms, in college, and then eventually CrossFit. But I still wanted to learn more, and that’s what led me here, to share how empowering health & fitness can be.  I love to break down the basics of the weight room, how to move safely and effectively, with correct form, so you can be strong when doing what you love outside of the gym. During weight training, correct form and range of motion is important to me. So we’ll make sure we dial in technique before we increase weights. Whether we use body weight, free weights, machines, or the barbell; slow and controlled movements are key. We’ll exercise the full body as well as in each movement pattern, and may even add some cardio exercise to the circuit to keep the heart rate up. Especially with classes; it’s an easy and fun way to get strong with your friends.

Britt Petrovich

Strength & Conditioning coach. Available for personal training

I’m passionate about helping people get strong and feel good in their bodies. I’ve been instructing creative movement in Portland for nearly 10 years. As a yoga instructor, I spent most of my young adult life in yoga studios. After a handful of injuries (from yoga and running) I wanted to heal and get stronger, but didn’t know where to start. The weight room felt intimidating and, as a woman, I was unsure where to begin. Many years later, I’m fully invested in the power of resistance training. While I still love and practice yoga, my focus has shifted toward strength training, particularly helping women get into the weight room. I want to change the narrative around what it means to “get strong” and “lift weights”. Creating a space where everyone feels capable and welcome is a group effort; I’m here to help with that mission. I encounter lots of people who are intimidated by lifting, or who have had bad gym experiences (myself included). Strength training has significantly improved my life and well-being and I hope it will do the same for you. I bring many years of experience as a movement instructor to my personal training. I have an eye for alignment and technique and will do my best to help you feel confident in your movement.

grace Campbell

My name is Grace, it's nice to meet you! Since 2021 I've been helping people of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels find success in training. I'm dedicated to helping you identify and achieve your goals through personalized programming, communication, and support. I will collaborate with you to establish your goals and create a program that is effective, challenging and, most importantly, fun.I help clients train their bodies to function the way they want, to suit their lifestyles, rather than feeling stuck in current movement patterns. I have worked with clients through all stages of life, but find particular joy in working with clients that are new to, or restarting, a fitness plan, active agers, and women working through the menopausal transition. As we age it’s extremely important and more beneficial than ever to work our muscles, train balance, and challenge our functional habits to keep up with daily life. I believe that we can be healthier and stronger at any stage of life and that we all have to start somewhere. I hope you'll start with me! Outside of the gym I can be found playing soccer, climbing, and bumming around with my pup.

Mak BEDGOOD

Strength & Conditioning coach. Lifting personal training by request

Growing up, I was always on the move—whether it was playing baseball, soccer, volleyball, or surprising everyone with ballet (crazy switch, I know). I also spent time running and competing as a triathlete. My love for weightlifting started back in 2016 when I joined a local YMCA barbell club. At the age of 11, I began my journey in powerlifting, but soon after, I switched to the dark side (cue dramatic music) and took up Olympic Weightlifting. Since then, I’ve competed at both local and national levels, and I’m still at it today! Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life, kids, adults, and even athletes with special needs. My biggest passion in fitness (and in life, honestly) is helping others find their confidence and strength, whether they’re hitting a PR or just stepping into the gym for the first time. I truly believe that the best thing you can do is take that first, sometimes uncomfortable, step toward your goals. Trust me—it’s worth it. What keeps me going is surrounding myself with people who inspire me, push me, and laugh at my bad jokes. That’s why I love being part of the UAC community. There’s nothing better than sharing wins, helping each other through challenges, and celebrating progress together.

Venus edlin – Manager

If you’ve been to Eastside and saw a petite person with a mullet running around cleaning, answering questions and typing voraciously… hello, that was me! My name is Venus and you can use they/them pronouns for me. At Eastside, I manage facilities, scheduling, staffing, marketing and anything else Sean asks for.

I come to movement and fitness through a life long love of dance. In fact, I have danced until my body dropped (ask me about my vertebrae subluxations!). Today, I still try to find time to dance, stay flexible and perform. These days, it is often under my drag alter ego Gayotine. I have become more committed to balanced wellness since dealing with chronic pain, hyper-mobility and mental illness.

When I am not at the gym, I am a freelance journalist and theatre marketer. I am constantly trying to find more time to pet my cat Banshee, find new spots to eat with my partner and pole dance.

Dylan Chavez – Front desk

My name is Dylan Chavez!

I developed a passion for fitness and cross-training almost 10 years ago. Going to the gym has helped me emotionally and physically to play the sport that I love the most: roller derby.

Since 2024, I have skated with Rose City, the roller derby league in Portland Oregon. RCR are five time International Champions! My nickname is Darko and I play for home team Guns and Rollers and Rose City Travel Team.

I do believe working out can lead us to living long, strong, happy and independent lives!
